Bayview Bay with sailing boats and distant hills
Everything you need

Plan your visit

Bayview is easy to reach by rail and road, and compact enough to explore without a car once you arrive.

Getting here

Travel to Bayview

By train

Bayview station is a ten-minute level walk from the seafront. Direct trains run from Exeter, Bristol and Taunton, with one-change journeys from London Paddington, Birmingham and South Wales. Taxis and the number 3 seafront bus wait outside the station.

By car

From the M5, leave at Junction 28 and follow the A376 and B3198 towards St Cuthbert’s Bay. Long-stay parking is available at Station Road and Northfield, while short-stay car parks serve the harbour and promenade.

By bus and coach

The CoastLink 52 connects Bayview with Exeter and neighbouring coastal towns every hour. National coaches stop at Northfield, with a local shuttle into the centre.

Getting around

The promenade, harbour and old town are best explored on foot. Local buses run to Beacon Head, Ferncombe and nearby villages, and cycle hire is available beside the station.

Access for everyone

Accessible Bayview

Much of the seafront is level, with step-free routes between the station, promenade, pier and harbour. Accessible toilets are available at West Beach, the pier entrance, Market Hall and Old Quay.

The hillside lift links the promenade with Clifftop Gardens from Easter to October. Beach wheelchairs can be reserved through the Seafront Office, and several local taxi operators have wheelchair-accessible vehicles.
